For Kelsey Summers, a trip to Europe sounded like the perfect adventure. Not only would she have the chance to live life with no strings attached, she could really annoy her father by mindlessly tossing away his money as well. So far everything is going exactly as planned. Kelsey is about to spend some quality dancing time with two Hungarian hunks at a bar housed in a formerly abandoned building in Budapest. Then, just when Istvan (or was it Tamas?) moves in for his kiss, it happens. Istvan’s kiss turns into a majorly embarrassing slobber-fest that catches the attention of the primary American hottie at the bar. Kelsey wants the American guy to scope her out, but this is definitely not the way she planned on doing it! Carmack’s writing perfectly captures the voice of the twentysomething crowd, and her ability to fuse sexy romance with just the right amount of acerbic wit make her one of the true stars of the new-adult romance movement. --John Charles

So THIS is what the buzz for Cora Carmack's books is all about. Finding It is the third book in the Losing It series but it reads fine (more than fine!) as a standalone novel. The previous books are completely unrelated stories that just revolve around Kelsey's friends.
Simply and shortly put: I. loved. this. book.
Now onto my long, possibly incoherent, and certainly unrestrained review. You've been warned.
Even the glamor of traveling through Europe alone and her daddy's limitless credit cards can't get Kelsey Summers out of her post-graduation slump. All the parties, the booze, the hot boys... they're distractions, but they're meaningless to her because she doesn't know what's wrong in her life. She's extremely privileged—blessed, even, with her Barbie-doll looks, theatre degree, and friends back home who love her—but she's unhappy, and what makes her unhappier is she doesn't know why. The bottomless, passionless pit she falls into can't be all there is to life, can it?
Then she meets the piercing eyes of a handsome stranger in a bar, and her world is turned upside-down. Life may not have been pretty before, but it also wasn't scary until ex-soldier Jackson Hunt came around... scary because for the first time in her life, she's met someone who ignites something inside of her—someone who makes her want to bare the parts of herself that she thought she had long buried and thrown away.
Someone who threatens to love her even after discovering her secrets.
Carmack's gift for crafting the most flawed—and thus beautiful—of characters, is stunning. HUNT asdfasl;dflkasf I can't even begin to tell you how hard I fell for him.
The story:
We first meet a carefree Kelsey as she's partying the night away with some new travel buddies. She can't remember the name on this one guy and he can't really speak English, but doesn't stop Kelsey from hooking up with him. The only problem is, he's possibly the worst kisser of all time. And to her horror, Unknown-Hot-Soldier-Boy aka Jackson is watching on and having a good laugh at her expense. Soon Jackson is starts appearing in all the same places she is, and an unlikely friendship is born. However both are keeping secrets from the other that is preventing their relationship from progressing further.
They travel all over Europe on a massive adventure of self discovery. Both of them dealing with their own issues and trying to become better people. As they grow closer the connection between the becomes stronger and yet Jackson continues to hold back from a romantic relationship - the question is why?
Now I have to admit, I guessed what the big twist was from very early on - I'm not sure if it was because it's very obvious or if I just read waaay to much chick lit! But seeing it coming certainly didn't detract from the story - I enjoyed watching everything leading up to it, and when it was revealed I was still caught up in all the drama! And oh was there drama!
The characters:
At first I didn't think I was going to like Kelsey. In the opening scene in the bar/nightclub, she came across as and selfish and quite shallow. However over the next couple of scenes, I started to see a different side to her and really started to like her. She may put up a very confident carefree image, but she's so lost and insecure about her entire life that it was hard to to feel for her.
