We used this travel guide every day during our trip to the Big Island. It proved to be an indispensable companion. The tips on everything from sights to restaurants were extremely helpful. We visited several "off the beaten path" gems thanks to this book. The only downside of the book is that it is organized by region. At times this made it a little difficult to search the book while on the road. We used the Kindle edition, so it may be a little easier to use in paperback.

I've gone through the entire book and have found it to be a valuable resource for activities and hotels. I plan on using it for tips on food when we actually take our trip in January but it directed me to some resources that I wasn't even aware of for accomodations and the accomodations we've booked look to be better and cheaper than the hotels in the areas.
We are going with a 2 year old and because of that it eliminates a lot of activities, I found the book was very useful in identifying some additional activities that we could do with young children. I'm looking forward to our trip and will be using this book as a guide throughout the entire time.
