Lonely Planet's Scandinavia guide provides a strong bird's eye view of the cities and countries in the region. The guide may warrant four stars if the idea is to plan a longer tour including several of the locations at once. As expected this provides the basics for each city or country such as tops things to see, logistic information, accommodation and eats. The writing is crisp and efficient with an easy to follow layout relying more on text than on colorful pictures. It also offers a multi-language section for greetings and basic day-to-day activities.
The downside to the multi-country travel guide is that the format only allows cultural and historical elements limited space. Even with the smaller scope, it is also a thicker, heavier book which can be cumbersome to cart around during your travels. So depending on the intended use the star rating may vary.

This is a decent book that gives an overview of the Scandinavian countries. If you are looking for a short trip and want to see the highlights, it would work well for you.
